Murugan Idli Shop, known for its soft idlies and different kinds of “chutnies” extends its operation to Besant Nagar.

This is the fourth branch of the shop in the city, which is having its headquarters in Madurai. Its other branches are located in T.Nagar (two shops) and Triplicane. The shop serves only South Indian dishes like varieties of “Dosas”, “Pongal” and Chettinad items such as “Kuzhi Paniyarams,” which it says is its forte.

The shop is open from 7 am to 11 pm without break. The manager says that they are ready to open the shop even up to 1 am if there is response from its clientele.

Murugan Idli Shop was inaugurated by T.K Gopalan, senior advocate, Madurai and G. Rajagopaalan, senior advocate, Madras High Court in Besant Nagar.
